Our Programs:
With the dedication of more than 150 employees in the city of Chicago, western suburbs, and southern suburbs, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago addresses critical needs in these communities by providing the following primary services:

Economic Empowerment
Economic Empowerment programs offer women and girls a partnership for long-term personal and financial success. The program provides help with planning for a career, career advancement, financial sustainability and asset acquisition, through one-on-one coaching, career placement, computer training and financial counseling.

Sexual Violence and Support Services
YWCA Metropolitan Chicago provides the first line of support to victims and ongoing assistance to survivors with its rape crisis hotline and counseling services. As the largest provider of comprehensive sexual violence services in Illinois and the largest provider of counseling services for child victims of sexual violence, the YWCA helps survivors and their families regain a sense of control over their lives.

Early Childhood Services
The YWCA has a strong commitment to providing exceptional early education programs. In order for women to be successful in the workplace, they must have access to affordable, dependable, high-quality child care. The YWCA offers a variety of programs for parents and child care providers to ensure that children receive quality care from trained professionals.

Racial Justice
The Center for Racial Justice and Activism provides a grassroots training ground for all members of the community to learn, experience and lead racial justice and activist efforts. Trainings for adults and youth focus on understanding the systemic nature of racism and creating patterns to end oppression.
